Up: SPACECRAFT OBSERVING MODES
Previous: Fixed Time and Periodic
There are three observing modes envisaged for gathering additional
scientific data:
- PHT Serendipity mode:
- Whenever possible during satellite slews
PHT will make a survey at 200 m.
- CAM Parallel mode:
- While an observation is carried out with
another instrument at a particular sky position, CAM will take images on a
nearby field separated from the sky position by the 12 or 17 arcmin separation
between the instrument apertures in the ISO focal plane.
- LWS Parallel mode:
- While an observation is carried
out with another instrument at a particular
sky position data from all LWS detectors are taken.
These modes are not available to proposers. The data from these modes need to
be taken and reduced in a systematic and complete manner. This will be done
by the respective instrument consortia and SOC, with data being published
after the mission.
