README for the program read_CD ------------------------------ Version 1.1 16-Apr-97 by M. Kunkel, MPIA, Heidelberg This program runs only on SunOS (read_CD_sunos) and Solaris (read_CD_solaris). If you want to convert ISO data files from the CD-ROM names to names PIA can understand on other operating systems, please use the shell script convert_PIA_names.sh. The program read_CD copies the files from a ISO data CD distributed by ESA into your actual directory. The ISOPHOT Interactive Analysis Software (PIA) can not read the filenames as they are used on the CD. Therefore the program changes all filenames to the right names described e.g. in the PHT Data Users Manual. By default, the program read_CD searches for the files to be copied in /cdrom/cdrom0/products (Solaris 2.X) or /cdrom/products (SunOS 4.X). It copies the files which are listed in the file /cdrom/cdrom0/datalist.txt (Solaris 2.X) or /cdrom/datalist.txt (SunOS 4.X). You can change these default paths with the options -p and -d. If you want to copy only certain datasets you can first copy the file datalist.txt to your harddisk and edit it manually. Then you can use the -d option to point to your edited datalist.txt. If you don't want to copy the calibration files, use the -c option. If you need small case filenames (CIA), use the -s option.
