How to use the Cookbook

Observers should first choose the AOT best suitable for the desired observation (cf. Sect.gif) and familiarize themselves with the effects that impact ISOCAM observations (cf. Sect.gif). In each of the following sections, observers are given a detailed description of the AOT, the input parameters and samples of performance figures.

For each AOT, the total observation time for an observation is the sum of three terms:

where:

= time spent integrating on chip, useful for increasing the sensitivity.

= stabilization time.

= time required for the different overheads, including the flat rate 180 sec. per individual AOT, or 20 sec per additional concatenated AOT.
