In case of C05 there is a asynchronism of cycles with raster steps:
the instrument is continuously reading the detector but has no
information on what the satellite is doing. This can be potentially
damaging while the satellite is slewing from one to the next raster
position. Indeed, experience has shown that a few read outs can get
``lost'' for polarizer 1.
As consequence it is essential to request more than one cycle to
ensure, that one full cycle is obtained. Analysis of C05 calibration
observations have proven that it is helpful to have more than one
photometric flux value for each of the three polarizers.
Due to the substantial increase of the value and therefore much
longer observing times we recommend the value of = 2.
