The infrared luminocity of LMC star forming regions and links with starburst galaxies.

The star formation history of 4 stellar complexes in LMC is investigated by using IRAS observations, stellar evolutionary models, star counts and correlations between the FIR radiation and star formation rate of starburst galaxies. An important result of this investigation is that the stellar complexes are gravitationally bound systems, comprising mainly of old stars with a small fraction of young stars owing to a recent burst of star formation. Two of the complexes show strong FIR emission and the comparison with star counts and the expected UV luminocity indicates that the more massive stars (spectral type O) are formed earlier and the formation of the less massive stars follows.
