Second Announcement:

                Workshop on ISO Polarisation Observations
                       VILSPA, May 25-28, 1999

Dear ISO Observer,

The ISO Data Centre is organizing a workshop on ISO polarisation
observations at ESA's satellite tracking station near Madrid (Spain) in
May 1999. The workshop objective is to support the finalisation
of data reduction and analysis of individual observing programmes.

The workshop aims at bringing together the ISO observers, working on
polarisation programmes, with experts in instrument calibration and data
reduction. An exchange is foreseen on latest calibration updates, on advanced
data processing techniques, and also on the latest results of polarisation
studies. The ISO Data Centre offers facilities and support from the staff
to reduce and fine tune polarisation data during the workshop.

Since our first announcement nearly all ISO polarisation observers have replied
to our questionnaire, and we are glad about the positive response of the
observers confirming their attendance of the workshop. Based on your inputs we
give below the tentative list of participants and the workshop programme.

For those who will attend the workshop, guidance for travel arrangements
is given on web page:

Please send a confirmation plus the final dates of your visit to our
helpdesk at

Also contact our helpdesk in case you need additional help for your visit.

Looking forward to seeing you in VILSPA,

and Ulrich Klaas (MPIA, Heidelberg)

Workshop on ISO Polarisation Observations: Workshop Details
===========================================================

Time and Location
-----------------

The workshop will be held in the ISO Data Centre in Villafranca del Castillo,
Spain in the period May 25-28, 1999.

Scope
-----

During the 4-day workshop we will offer general overviews of the ISO pola-
risation observations, presentations on the instrument calibration of ISOPHOT
and ISOCAM, data reduction software packages PIA and CIA and special data
reduction techniques. After short voluntary presentations of the participants'
programmes, including goal and related topics, e.g. observations, at other
wavelengths, we plan dedicated "hands-on" sessions supported by data reduction
experts in the afternoons. There will be ample time to discuss the outcome of
these sessions.

There will be no formal proceeding, but we will publish presentations and
contributions on the ISO WWW and in paper form via the IDC preprint series.
