Details of Parallel mode

An overview of the parallel-mode saturation problem is given in section . The parameters of the extragalactic parallel mode are as follows:

• filter = LW2 (6.75 micron)
  
• Tint = 2.1 sec
  
• Pfov = 6 arcsec
  
• gain parameter = 1
  
• saturation limit = 0.6 Jy (in the LW2 band, for a point source and assuming a stellar spectrum.)

Even though ISOCAM will sometimes be operated in a less sensitive parallel mode, it cannot always be predicted which mode will actually occur immediately prior to an observation. The observer should assume that the configuration detailed above is the configuration ISOCAM will be in at the beginning and end of his or her observation.
