In this Chapter a page by page correction note of the ISOCAM
Observer's Manual is given. At the beginning of each item the number of the
page in the ISOCAM Observer's Manual is given as reference, followed
by the new text, numbers or formulae.
- Page 2: the CVF LW range is 4.956-17.34 m.
- Page 3: arcsec, not arsec.
- Page 6: The SW gain is no longer adjustable, it is set to 2.
- Page 11: The saturation limits is .
- Page 18: The CVF SW number of steps is 113.
- Page 20, 56, 60, 67: the CVF LW2 wavelength range is now
8.782 to 17.34 m.
- Page 31: The CLEAN description is incorrect. The CLEAN procedure
consists of 5 frames being taken and with internal source switched on.
The CLEAN has the same configuration as the observation (filter,
integration time). See also note on CLEAN, DARK and CALibration
procedures.
- Page 34: There is no CLEAN procedure in SW, a CLEAN is performed
before the dark current measurement, when a dark is selected.
- Page 34: Flash-mode: it lasts 28 minutes.
- Page 36: Formula 13 is incorrect. In particular if N is 0,
which is a valid mode, it goes to infinity. The correct formula is:
- Page 38: Tpointing is 180s + 25s.
- Page 55:
N = 0
is allowed.
- Page 58, 59, 62 and 65:
The time given for a CLEAN operation is incorrect. The CLEAN in the
DARK_SW takes 2.5 min, while the CLEAN in the LW takes between 15s
and 2min (5 frames).
- Page 58: Formulae 23 and 24 do not take into account the
possibility of
N = 0
. Furthermore, formula 22 is
incorrect. In Formula 22 replace M and N by (M-1) and (N-1). Then if
, formula 24 should be:
This assumes that
M divides 32
PFOV exactly, but
microscanning implies this. Identical formulae apply to
.
Then formula 24 should be replaced by
- Page 58: There is a reference to a strip of 3 pixels surrounding
Area2, but the size of this strip actually depends on
M and
N which are not fixed at that point.
- Page 59, 62, 65 and 68:
is mentionned,
but CAM's logic ignores it, Remember to include synchronisation frames
to your Nexpos.
- Page 61: Definition of Nexpos is incorrect, the AOT1 definition is
given instead of AOT3. for AOT3, Nexpos is the total number of frames
taken on the source per cycle.
where
is the on source position,
is the reference off source
position one and
is the last reference off source
position.
- Page 62: There is a disagreement between the different estimations
of the slew speed. The cookbook gives for AOT3, the slew time to be:
where
is the slew angle in
arcsec. This should be replaced by Equation XXX.
- Page 77: There is a typo in formula 31. the correct one is
- Page 85. In Table 19 the sensitivity in the shortest
wavelength broad band filters is higher by a factor up to 1.5.
