Saturation is a serious limitation of ISOCAM observations. The camera is not designed to observe extremely bright targets. Saturation effects have to be avoided because they introduce long standing saturation patterns on the array. The observer is required to check his observations against potential saturation effects. The saturation limits of all ISOCAM optical configurations are listed in Table 1 for the SW detector and in Table 2 for the LW detector as provided in Appendix 1. ISOCAM observations are screened at the Science Operations Centre and may be subject to cancellation if it appears they will cause saturation.
