Saturation limits

The read-out electronics of the detectors can handle only a limited dynamic range. There are maximum flux levels for which the read-out electronics cannot properly record the incoming photocurrent anymore because the read-out voltage range will be exceeded. These saturation levels are determined by the sum of the source plus background emission. For the P3 and the C100 detectors in particular, the saturation limits are already reached at relatively low astronomical fluxes. The limits are listed independently for point source and extended source fluxes in Table 6 and should be taken into consideration when selecting targets.
