PHT-C

The far infrared camera system consists of two mosaic arrays, of which one can be used at a time. C100 is a 3 x 3 Ge:Ga pixel array, C200 a 2 x 2 stressed Ge:Ga array. Every detector element is equipped with an individual field lens. The sky coverage of each pixel is 43.5 x 43.5 for C100 and 89.4 x 89.4 for C200.

As displayed in Fig. 3 there are gaps between the individual pixels of the arrays. The pixels cover 93% of the array in the case of C100 and 95% in the case of C200.

There are 6 filters for C100 and 5 for C200 available. Tab. 3 gives a list of these filters including the central wavelength, the widths, their resolution and the transmission. The filters are discussed in more detail below. Three polarisers with the same orientations as those for PHT-P can be added to perform polarimetric observations.
