2.1 Introduction

There are two software packages specifically written to further process SWS data beyond the standard pipeline products: the ISO Spectral Analysis Package for SWS and LWS Auto Analysis Results (ISAP); and (the soon to be released) OSIA. Users are encouraged to obtain both these packages from the ISO Web site http://www.iso.vilspa.esa.es/. Recipes are also available at this web site to guide you in the reduction of your data. Information of ISAP can also be found at http://www.mpe-garching.mpg.de/iso/observer/isap/isap.html

Users wishing to process SWS data with their favourite data analysis package are recommended to read the ISAP and OSIA recipes and the following sections in order to understand what has to be done to the data.

Whatever users choose, they will first have to obtain SWS data. Data downloaded from the Post-Mission Archive (PMA) will be in the correct format, but some users may have received data from the Post-Mission Archive on CD-ROM, or they may have CD-ROMs produced during operations containing their data. In both cases they will have to read the data off the CD first.
