below please find a list of presentations to date; this list is likely to expand somewhat.
We are planning a 2.5 day meeting, starting at 9:00 each day, ending about 17:30 on Wed 14 and Thr 15, and at 13:00 on Fri 16.
The first day will be dedicated to observed effects, with 3-4 presentations by each ISO instrument team. The second and third days will address specific problems such as conditions in space (space weather), ultimate sensitivities, and deglitching techniques, and there will also be presentations non-ISO detectors. We are also planning a set of splinter meetings (3-4) on topics of highest interest. We expect to send out a detailed program before the Christmas holidays.
As already specified in the first announcement, a block of rooms have been reserved at the hotel Florida Norte (four stars). We recommend that you make your own reservations; please mention that you are attending this workshop in order to receive the special conference price of ESP 8,000 (single room with bath, including IVA); breakfast is ESP 900 (the current exchange rate is approximately 150 ESP/US$).
The hotel is next to the Principe Pio train station (for local trains only, also called Estacion del Norte) and very close to a subway station, which is excellent for getting around in Madrid. Also, Vilspa is very difficult to reach with public transport or indeed by taxi (most drivers would not know how to reach it), and thus we will arrange transportation from the hotel. Let us know if you plan to take advantage of this so that we can make the arrangements for the proper number of people. Exact times for transportation to Vilspa will be communicated later.
Winter temperatures in the Madrid area are typically between 0 and 10C; rain and fog are about equally likely as sunshine. Snow is not likely, but possible. Lunches will be at the Vilspa cafeteria, with typical costs of ESP 500 to 800.
