The ELAIS survey

Michael Rowan-Robinson

Astrophysics Group, Blackett Laboratory Imperial College, London

Preliminary results will be reported from the ELAIS ISO survey at 6.7, 15, 90 and 175 $\rm\mu m$, covering a total of 13 $\rm deg^2$ of clean, high-latitude sky at 15 and 90 $\rm\mu m$, and smaller areas at the other wavelengths. Complementary surveys have also been carried out at optical, near infrared and radio wavelengths. Source counts at 15 and 90 $\rm\mu m$, and their interpretation, will be discussed. Preliminary results on identifications and spectroscopy of the survey sources will be given.

Results from surveys of the Hubble Deep Fields, North and South, at 6.7 and 15 $\rm\mu m$ will also be reported. A discussion of the implications for the star formation history of the universe will be given.
